About My Fair Yogi

Yep, that’s me … In my “happy place” on a serene beach in Mexico.

Come back to yourself.

My Fair Yogi is a space for slowing down, paying attention, and making space for what matters.

Through yoga, guided meditation, journaling, creative practice, and retreat experiences, My Fair Yogi invites you to step out of the noise of everyday life and reconnect with your body, your imagination, your surroudings, and yourself.

You don’t have to be flexible. You don’t have to be experienced. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You can begin wherever you’re at.

Practice, reflect, create.

I believe that wellness isn’t about becoming a better version of yourself. It’s about embracing your authentic self more fully.

My Fair Yogi brings together practices that help you listen inward so you can engage more compassionaately with the world around you:

  • Yoga to move, breathe, and be your body.
  • Guided Meditation & Yoga Nidra to rest, reset, and cultivate awareness.
  • Journaling to slow your thoughts down enough to notice what they’re trying to tell you.
  • Creative practice to explore ideas, experiences, and possibilities that don’t always fit neatly into words.
  • Workshops & retreats to step away from your usual routines and create space for deeper reflection, connection, and renewal.

Some practices only take five minutes. Others unfold over an entire weekend. There is no one right way to participate

A practice for real life.

My Fair Yogi isn’t about perfection, productivity, or checking one more thing off your list.

It’s about creating small, intentional pauses in the middle of real life.

Maybe you need a few quiet minutes before the day begins. Maybe you want to move after sitting at your desk all afternoon. Maybe you’re working through a transition, looking for creative inspiration, or simply craving a weekend away from your usual routine.

Wherever you are, there is a practice for that.

I’m Deirdre, the human being being My Fair Yogi.

I’m Average. A daughter. Mother. Sister. Friend. Teacher. Writer. Spark of the divine. Just like you.

I’m a yoga teacher, writer, educator, and lifelong learner. My work exists at the intersection of body, story, creativity, and reflection.

I’ve spent years teaching how to slow down and notice–language, stories, their own experience, and the world around them. Yoga and meditation have become another way of doing the same thing: another way of noticing, listening.

My Fair Yogi emerged from that intersection.

It’s a liminal space where I can yoke the practices I care so deeply about and create experiences that encourage curiosity, presence, play, and meaningful rest.

We don’t change who we are when we begin a practice. The practice helps us remember who we’ve always been.

Kayaking on Lake Crescent
Kayaking the teal waters of Lake Crescent on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

My grandmother introduced me to yoga by practicing alongside leotard-clad ladies on the television in the eighties! She was keen to the calming benefits yoga offered adults and children alike. I experimented with a variety of yoga styles and instructors while attending college in Northern Arizona and the United Kingdom, but consistency and dedication to my personal practice came much later. After I had noticed the benefits of a regular yoga practice, I craved the mind and body balance that unraveled. My practice brought with it not only physical transformations like increased strength, balance and flexibility but also mental transformations such as reduced stress and anxiety and greater positivity and clarity.

I have practiced yoga for over twenty years, but I started my journey as yoga as a teacher in 2012. I am an RYT-200 certified in the YogaFit style which emphasizes a practice that is safe for “every BODY.”

My classes combine stillness and movement with plenty of modifications so each student can tailor each class to how they feel in each moment. After all, every day is a new day.
